Bharat Bandh: Dalit and Adivasi organizations have announced a peaceful nationwide strike to emphasize their demands for greater representation of marginalized communities in employment and education, as well as to safeguard their constitutional rights. This bandh is being organized in response to the recent Supreme Court ruling on the sub-categorization of quotas for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), as well as the ongoing debate over lateral entry into central civil services.
The National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organizations (NACDAOR) is leading the call for this bandh and has presented a set of demands urging the government to ensure social justice and equitable opportunities for these communities in both the job and educational sectors.
NACDAOR has also appealed to all OBC and SC/ST groups to participate peacefully and in large numbers to support the cause.
