BCI International Lawyers Conference 2023 to be Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day “International Lawyers Conference 2023,” which will be organized by the Bar Council of India (BCI). It is set to take place on September 23 at Vigyan Bhavan. During this ceremony, Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud will serve as the Chief Guest, and Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, along with Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice of the United Kingdom, Alex Chalk KC, will be the guest of honor.
The Senior Advocate Manan Kumar Mishra said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate the ceremony. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be the Chief Guest in the valedictory ceremony on September 24. The details were shared by BCI on several topics, including “Artificial Intelligence,” “Transforming the Legal Landscape,” “Intellectual Property Rights in a Borderless World,” and “Changing Landscape of Criminal Law,” which will be held at the conference and will have participants.
This Conference is likely to bring together legal professionals and experts from various parts of the world to discuss legal matters and exchange insights on important legal issues, and it will immensely help the legal fraternity and law students.
Some legal authorities stated that in March of the current year, the Bar Council of India had formulated rules concerning the entry and regulation of foreign lawyers in India. In June, discussions were held in London with various stakeholders, the Law Society of England and Wales, and representatives from multinational law firms, indicating strong interest in facilitating the entry of foreign lawyers into India.
This decision was motivated by the concern that the Indian legal community might lag behind if it did not embrace these changes promptly. BCI has formally announced the registration and regulation of foreign law firms in India for the year 2022, collecting mixed reactions from leaders of the Legal Community and renowned Lawyers.
