Asha Parekh, A Veteran Actress Took A Dig At The Makers Of The Kashmir Files

Asha Parekh, a veteran actress, criticized “The Kashmir Files,” a film directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Vivek Agnihotri in association with Abhishek Agarwal Arts and Zee Studio, for not donating to Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir trying to survive with the bare minimum.

When asked during an interview with News 18 whether she had watched the massive hits of 2022 and 2023, “The Kashmir Files” and “The Kerala Story,” respectively, the veteran actress didn’t hold back in slamming the makers of “The Kashmir Files” for not giving back to society by extending a helping hand to the Hindus in Kashmir living in poor conditions, without basic necessities like water and electricity. She criticized them for neglecting the people whose stories they profited from.

Both movies were a hit at the box office, and even in the middle of controversies, the movies received massive support. Upon hearing that these films were well-liked, Asha Parekh replied, “I haven’t seen these films, so I can’t comment on the controversies surrounding them.” However, if viewers enjoy these films, they ought to watch.”

Speaking about the huge box office collection of “The Kashmir Files,” Asha Parekh further added, “Yes, people watched ‘The Kashmir Files.’ Now I will say something controversial. The producer of the movie earned ₹400 crore. How much money did the creators donate to the well-being of the Hindu residents of Jammu who lack access to light and water? Eliminating the distributor’s share and everything, let us assume the makers received ₹200 crores of the ₹400 crores they made from the movie; they might have contributed ₹50 crores to aid the Hindu community in Kashmir, am I correct?”
