Amit Shah added that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should keep in mind that, even if future generations of his family come into power, Muslims will not be granted reservations.
On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah firmly stated that Article 370 would not be reintroduced in Jammu and Kashmir, even if the late former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi could return from heaven. Shah reminded Congress leader Rahul Gandhi that even with the coming of his “fourth generation,” Muslims would not receive reservations designated for Dalits, tribals, and other backward classes.
“A few days ago, the Congress party president met with Ulemas (Muslim scholars), who requested reservations for Muslims in jobs and education. For this to happen, quotas for SCs, STs, and OBCs would have to be reduced,” Shah explained. “Rahul Baba, neither you nor your future generations can take away the reserved quotas for SCs, STs, and OBCs to allocate them to Muslims,” he asserted.
In Maharashtra, which is preparing for assembly elections on November 20, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (comprising Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (SCP), and Congress) will compete against the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP ‘Mahayuti’ alliance. Shah argued that an MVA government would drain Maharashtra’s resources to fund projects in Delhi while a BJP-led Mahayuti government would ensure enhanced development for Maharashtra.
Shah also criticized Rahul Gandhi’s recent political displays involving the Constitution. He claimed that Rahul was recently seen waving a copy of the Constitution, reportedly with blank pages, during events—a move he called misleading and disrespectful to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s legacy.
Taking a dig at Sonia Gandhi, Shah remarked, “Sonia Ji has tried to ‘land the Rahul plane’ 20 times, each time resulting in a crash. Now, she’s trying for the 21st time in Maharashtra. But, Sonia Ji, the Rahul plane is destined to crash again.”
