Admiral R Hari Kumar Addresses Future Leadership of Indian Armed Forces at DSSC

In a substantial address at the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar emphasized the crucial position of maritime methods and the Indian Navy’s evolving capabilities in securing the kingdom’s interests inside the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Speaking to the attendees of the seventy-nine Staff Course, Admiral Kumar underscored India’s rich maritime legacy and its strategic importance in shaping the U.S.A.’s maritime identity.

Admiral Kumar highlighted the Indian Navy’s excellent transformation into a Combat Ready, Credible, Cohesive, and Future-Proof force. He attributed this transformation to the concepts of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance), which have guided the Navy in its pursuit of excellence and readiness to face contemporary challenges.

During his deal, Admiral Kumar provided insights into recent operations carried out by the Indian Navy, including successful anti-piracy missions. These operations, he emphasized, underscored the Navy’s commitment to safeguarding India’s maritime interests and securing vital trade routes. He stressed the pivotal role played by the Navy in preserving maritime security, thereby contributing to the state’s economic prosperity and regional stability.

Moreover, Admiral Kumar emphasized the significance of jointness and integration within the Armed Forces to effectively deal with evolving security challenges and achieve national military objectives. He highlighted the need for better cooperation and synergy among different branches of the Navy, emphasizing that joint operations are critical for maximizing operational effectiveness and maintaining strategic advantage.
