Acharya Satyendra Das passes away: The chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple died at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, following a brain stroke.

Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, passed away at the age of 83 at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow, as confirmed by a press release from the institute. He had been admitted to the Neurology ward’s HDU on February 3 in critical condition after suffering a brain stroke on February 2. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited SGPGIMS on February 4 to check on his health.
Das served as the chief priest during the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992. Prior to the demolition, he had relocated the idols to the nearby Fakire Mandir and later installed them in the makeshift temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. Following the consecration ceremony of the new Ram Temple in Ayodhya, he continued his role as the chief priest.
On January 11, Acharya Satyendra Das celebrated the first anniversary of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ayodhya Temple, describing the event as “very beautiful.”
