Bhopal: The Mangalwara police successfully resolved the kidnapping of a 2-year-old boy within 12 hours and apprehended the accused. According to the police, the incident was reported at 11 PM on Saturday when the complainant, accompanied by her husband, approached the station. The woman, who works as a beggar, recounted that the incident occurred on November 22 while she was eating roadside snacks.
She explained, “I placed my younger son down from my lap to eat phulki. After finishing, I realized my child was missing. I, along with my two daughters, searched the area, walking through Chhota Talab, Jehangirabad, and other parts of the old city, but couldn’t find him.”
After returning home, she informed her husband about the abduction, and they continued searching for their son but to no avail.
Based on the woman’s account, the police registered a case of kidnapping and launched an investigation. Teams were formed to analyze CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident and nearby areas. The child was eventually found in the custody of the accused woman, Shahida, and rescued within 12 hours.
Shahida, who also works as a beggar, confessed that she had been observing the child for several days with the intention of abducting him to use him for begging. She admitted that two days earlier, she took the opportunity to kidnap the child while his mother was distracted eating phulki.
