The Congress and AAP had been in talks for a pre-poll alliance in Haryana, the home state of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. However, the discussions reached a deadlock over the number of seats, with AAP demanding 10 and Congress offering five, according to a PTI report. Earlier, AAP’s Haryana chief Sushil Gupta stated that the party would announce candidates for all 90 seats if the alliance wasn’t finalized by the end of the day. AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, leading the negotiations, emphasized a decision would be made before September 12. If a mutually beneficial agreement is not reached, the talks may end without a deal. Senior AAP leaders, including Sanjay Singh, have expressed that the party is fully prepared for the elections and has completed its candidate selection process. Voting for the 90-seat Haryana legislative assembly will take place on October 5, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 8.
