New Delhi: As counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections begins, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is confident of winning the Delhi elections for the fourth time in a row. Prominent AAP leaders, including Chief Minister Atishi and senior leader Manish Sisodia, have expressed hope of a sweeping victory, stressing the party’s governance model and commitment to development.

Claiming that former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be re-elected with a massive majority, Chief Minister Atishi, the AAP candidate from Kalkaji, described the election as a “battle between good and evil, work and hooliganism.” Speaking to reporters, she highlighted the rise of the AAP from a party with no financial or influential backing to a major political force in Delhi.

Similarly, Manish Sisodia, who is contesting from the Jangpura constituency, echoed Atishi’s confidence, saying people have voted for the “politics of honesty and work,” and the AAP will form the government with a big majority. “We have a lot to do for Delhi, especially in the field of education. People have given their verdict, which will be out in a few hours,” he said.

Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP is banking on its achievements in education, healthcare, and public welfare. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), campaigning under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is making aggressive attempts to regain power in Delhi after more than two decades. The Congress, which once dominated Delhi, is struggling to regain lost ground.

Most exit polls have given the BJP an edge, but AAP leaders have dismissed these projections, citing past instances when polls had underestimated their performance. The main battle in the election sees Arvind Kejriwal pitted against Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit and BJP’s Parvesh Verma in New Delhi, while Atishi is pitted against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress’ Alka Lamba in Kalkaji.

As the counting of votes progresses, all eyes are on the results, which will determine whether the AAP is able to retain its dominance in Delhi and whether the BJP manages to make a comeback.
