6 injured as Electric Scooter Explosion Sparks House Fire in Meerut

Meerut: Six individuals sustained injuries after an electric scooter caught fire while charging inside a house in Golden Colony, under Lisari Gate police station limits, during the early hours between Thursday night and Friday, according to police.
Kotwali CO Ashutosh Kumar told TOI that the incident occurred around 1 a.m. when Mohammad Shahjad was charging his electric two-wheeler, which was parked near a petrol-powered scooter. The electric scooter reportedly exploded, igniting the petrol scooter and causing the fire to quickly engulf the house. Shahjad, his wife Raisha, their 16-year-old daughter Rani, and three others, including two children, suffered minor burns.
He further stated that all the injured were safely evacuated and taken to the hospital, where they are in stable condition. No official complaint has been registered by the victims. Authorities will launch an investigation if foul play is suspected or a complaint is filed, but the affected family has declined police involvement at this time.
