Rain has wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh. Cloud bursts occurred at two places in Nirmand of Ani, Malana of Kullu, Thaltukhod of Mandi district, and Chamba district. The cloud burst has caused huge destruction. Many houses, schools, and hospitals have been damaged. About 51 people are still missing at four places. Four bodies have been recovered. 35 people have been rescued safely in Mandi district. After the cloudburst incident, all the schools and educational institutions in the Mandi area have been closed today. DC has issued orders. All educational institutions in Kullu also closed on 2nd August.

Cloud burst at midnight in Mandi’s Thaltukhod causing devastation. There is information about house collapse here. Road connectivity has also come to a standstill. SDRF and other teams have left for the spot. Thaltukhod Panchayat head Kali Ram said that a cloud burst incident has occurred in Terang and Rajban villages. Many people are missing in the incident. There is information about three houses being blown away.

Information has been received that eight people are missing in the cloud burst incident in Thaltukhod of Padhar sub-division, and two bodies have been recovered. One is injured. 35 people are safe. Mandi district administration has alerted the Air Force for rescue. Services will be sought when help is needed. NDRF has also been requested for assistance.

DC Apoorva Devgan and rescue teams are going to the affected area on foot. The local administration present on the spot is engaged in relief work. There is difficulty in reaching the spot due to broken roads and paths.

Apart from this, a cloud burst has caused devastation on the Shimla-Kullu border. Many houses, schools, and hospitals have been damaged. There are reports of many people missing. Relief and rescue operations have been carried out. The SDRF team has left for the spot. According to the information, there was a cloud burst in the early hours of Thursday morning near the Hydro Project in Samej Khad in Jhakri of Nirmand Block. This has caused huge losses. It is being told that 36 people were missing here. So far two people have been evacuated safely. The bodies of two have been recovered.  Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that relief work has been started immediately.  The number of people missing is high in Shimla district.

Malana One and Malana Two Power Projects have been heavily damaged due to a cloud burst during heavy rains in the Malana drain of the Kullu district. After heavy rains, the water level of the Parvati River has also increased above the danger mark. People from all the areas along the river banks including Jia, Bhuntar have been appealed to vacate their homes and go to safe places. Along with this, the water level in Vyas and Tirthan rivers has also increased. Everyone has been appealed to stay in places safe from rivers and streams.

8-10 houses have been washed away in Bagipul of Nirmand area of ​​Kullu district. Which also includes Patwar Khana, hotels, and shops. Seven to 10 people are reported missing in Bagipul. In this, seven people of the same family are said to be missing. Tehsildar is on the spot. The search operation is being started till Koel Khad. Many bridges have been washed away in Nirmand, and most of the roads are closed. The bus stand in Bagipul has vanished. 15 vehicles have been washed away in water.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah spoke to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on phone and took information about the situation arising due to cloud burst in the state. The Home Minister assured the Chief Minister of all possible assistance from the Central Government, including the deployment of NDRF to help in relief and rescue operations.

The Himachal Pradesh government has advised residents to stay away from riverbanks due to rising water levels and the release of water from dams. Additionally, there are warnings of potential landslides and flash floods in vulnerable areas.
