3 Highly Anticipated K-Dramas You Can Watch This January

In 2023, K-drama lovers got to see some truly memorable dramas. We got to watch top-tier action in ‘Moving’ and ‘Strong Girl Nam-Soon’ to sweet romance in ‘King the Land’ and ‘Twinkling Watermelon.’ This year too, we have several awesome dramas lined up for release.
Here are three highly anticipated Korean dramas you can watch this new year:
Marry My Husband — January 1
You can begin this year with tvN’s new drama ‘Marry My Husband,’ which has been adapted from the webtoon of the same name. It is the story of a woman named Kang Ji-won, a hardworking office worker, whose life changes after she is diagnosed with cancer. To make matters worse, she finds out that her husband has been in a secret relationship with her best friend. On this discovery, an ugly fight between the couple ensues in which her husband accidentally kills her. However, fate has different plans for Ji-won, as after the accident, she time travels 10 years back in time with a chance to change her life all over again. This drama premieres on tvN on January 1 and will also be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Love Song for Illusion — January 2
Another webtoon-based drama that you can enjoy this month is KBS’s new drama, ‘Love Song for Illusion.’ The story is about two royal descendants whose present lives are very different from those of royalty. Actor Park Ji-hoon plays the role of Crown Prince Sajo Hyun, who hides his real identity due to his oppressive father, Sajo Seung, and works as a fashion designer at a downtown boutique. He is also under a curse to feel extreme pain whenever he makes physical contact with others. Starring opposite him is actress Hong Ye-ji, who plays the role of princess Yeon Wol of the fallen Yeon dynasty. In order to avenge her family, she becomes an assassin but unknowingly falls into a trap with no memory of her past. How the worlds of these two individuals intersect and what happens after that form the crux of this drama. This drama airs from January 2 on KBS.
Doctor Slump — January 27
Actress Park Shin Hye fans are in for a treat as she makes a comeback this year after giving birth to her daughter in the drama ‘Doctor Slump,’ opposite actor Park Hyung Sik. It follows the lives of two brilliant doctors who used to be academic rivals back in their school days. However, in their present lives, they both realize that they are not really happy. They end up falling into a slump, hitting the lowest points in their lives, and eventually quit their jobs. At this time, they find each other again as neighbors and end up becoming each other’s biggest strength. Can this newfound relationship develop into something more? We need to wait and find out. ‘Doctor Slump’ will premiere on tvN on January 27 and will also be available for streaming on Netflix.
